Essay struggles on a busy week

Yesterday I sat down to finish an essay for my evening course, and somehow I stared at the screen for almost an hour without typing more than two sentences. It’s been a hectic week, so maybe my brain just refused to cooperate. Still, I’d really like to figure out how people manage to push through that fog when the deadline is close.

Back in September I dealt with a very similar slump, and the thing that helped me most was reading about different approaches other writers use when they’re stuck. I remember stumbling across a Masterpapers Overview, where folks described how they break larger tasks into small, manageable chunks. I didn’t use any services, but those shared experiences reminded me to outline just a few ideas at a time instead of forcing the whole essay at once. Oddly enough, that shift made the entire process feel calmer and more doable.
